The UN Young Professionals Program (YPP) 2025 is currently open for applications. The United Nations Young Professional Program is a recruitment program designed to attract talented, fresh young professionals from various countries to begin a career with the UN Secretariat. Since the YPP is intended for beginners, previous work experience is not required for eligibility. Successful applicants are offered a two-year fixed-term contract at either the P-1 or P-2 level. All successful candidates must be willing to accept a placement in any position at a UN duty station. Eligibility Criteria for the UN Young Professionals Program 2025 (UN YPP)
- Nationality: YPP is open to Nationals of the Participating countries. Each year list of countries changes.
- Required Qualification: You must have completed your bachelor’s degree to be eligible for the UN YPP exam.
- Age: The age of the applicant should be 32 years or younger at the time of the exam.
- Language: Be fluent in English or French.
- Work Experience: Work experience is not an eligibility requirement for YPP.

How UN YPP Program work?
An entrance exam is offered annually. Eligible applicants must pass the exam to be considered for the YPP.

Position Type, Level of Contract, and Duration
YPPs will be offered a 2-year Fixed contract at the P-1 and P-2 levels. After two years, and subject to satisfactory performance, you may be granted a continuing contract.
What is the meaning of the P1/P2 Level?
P1 and P2 are entry-level professional positions at the United Nations and do not normally require any extensive work experience.
The P-1 level is designated for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree and no work experience, while the P-2 level is for those holding a Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree with no work experience.
Duty Station and Location of Work
Successful candidates must be willing to be placed in a position at any UN duty station or field operation for at least 2 years.

- S – Z: Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Vanuatu, Vietnam.
