Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences states that it does not charge tuition fees for German or international students. That does not mean studying is free: students still need to budget for the semester contribution and living costs.
Tuition and fees
As a public institution in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhine-Waal says tuition fees were abolished and do not apply to German or international students. The semester contribution is separate and can change, so check the current amount before you apply or enrol.
Scholarship possibilities
Rhine-Waal provides information on scholarships and financial aid. Its Germany Scholarship page describes a €300 monthly stipend, awarded for at least one year, with an annual application period beginning in May. Eligibility and selection should be checked on the current university notice.
Budget properly
Build a monthly plan for rent, health insurance, food, local travel, learning materials, visa-related costs and the mandatory broadcasting contribution where applicable. An external scholarship can help, but it should not replace a realistic proof-of-funds plan.
Application checklist
- Select an eligible degree and verify entry requirements.
- Check the current application route and document deadlines.
- Budget for semester contribution and living costs.
- Review scholarship dates separately from course-admission deadlines.
