About the Churchill Fellowship

A Churchill Fellowship supports individuals to learn from other countries and apply that learning to challenges in the UK. Fellowships are awarded to individuals, not organisations, and the programme states that up to 120 Fellowships are awarded each year.

What the Fellowship Funds

There is no single standard grant amount. If shortlisted, applicants prepare a realistic budget and the Fellowship calculates the grant on a case-by-case basis. Funding can cover the Fellow’s travel and living costs for the approved learning activity. The programme can also support accessibility needs and provides travel insurance for Fellows.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a UK citizen with proof of citizenship when applying.
  • Live in the UK.
  • Be aged 18 or over when submitting the application, or turn 18 by the end of that year.
  • Propose learning from other countries that can benefit a UK community or sector.
